How Laptur Handles Your Work Data

Laptur is a local-first work timer. The core experience does not require a Laptur account or cloud workspace, and its standard work records are kept in the browser where you use the site.

Local browser storage

Work data stays with this browser

Task names, session details, notes, workday totals, the active timer, and preferences are stored in local browser storage so the timer, task deck, work log, and export features can work on this device.

Laptur does not require a name, profile, or Laptur password for the core experience. Browser-stored records do not automatically follow you to another browser or device.

What Laptur saves

Four local records

  • Work sessions: laptur.sessions
  • Active timer: laptur.activeSession
  • Tasks: laptur.tasks
  • Preferences: laptur.settings
Clearing and exports

Keep a copy when it matters

Clearing site data can remove saved tasks and logs, and that action may be permanent. Use the Export page to create a CSV or PDF copy of important workdays before clearing browser storage or changing devices.

Feedback messages

You choose whether to send

The Feedback page prepares a message in your device's email application. Opening the page does not send a message. If you choose to send it, the information is then handled by your email provider and the receiving mailbox. Avoid including sensitive personal or client data.
